Boys Basketball: Raiders continue success with pair of victories

The North Shore boys basketball team went 2-0 for the second week in a row. The Raiders defeated conference rival Latin School 70-54 on Jan. 24. Junior Austin Curren of Wilmette led the team with 25 points while senior co-captain Jake Bruce had 19 points. Junior Riley Hall of Wilmette totaled 11 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and three assists.

The Raiders then knocked of Northridge 60-44 on Friday. Curren led all scorers with 28 points. Bruce had 13 points while junior Jamie Swimmer of Glencoe had 11.

Girls Basketball

The Raiders went 1-1, losing to Latin on Jan. 24 and defeating Roycemore on Friday. Senior co-captain Kim Kahnweiler averaged 12 points and two steals, while freshman Simone Bergsurd of Winnetka led the team with 12 points. Freshmen Annie Kroll of Winnetka and Safia Vohra of Glenview each scored six points.

Sophomore Becca Slotkin of Evanston leads team rebounders with 6.9 per game after pulling down eight last week.
