Evanston teens net tickets for egging, booze in Wilmette

WILMETTE — A carload of Evanston teens who allegedly threw eggs at a Wilmette home Feb. 15 ended up going home with traffic, alcohol and drug-related tickets, after the homeowner forced them to stick around while he called police.
Police reported that the homeowner called officers to his house on the 1700 block of Central Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. They found five teens on the scene, all of whom reportedly admitted to throwing eggs at the building.
When police checked the car the teens were using, officers found a small amount of marijuana, some drug paraphernalia, and alcohol.
The 16-year-old boy who was driving got a ticket for having too many passengers while driving, in violation of Illinois’ graduated driver license law.
Meanwhile, one 14-year-old boy was ticketed for possessing marijuana, consuming alcohol as a minor, and disorderly conduct. Two other 14-year-old teens in the group were ticketed for consuming alcohol as minors, and disorderly conduct. A 15-year-old teen was ticketed for possessing alcohol as a minor, possessing marijuana and disorderly conduct.
