Wilmette village trustees approved a 2 percent raise for Village Manager Tim Frenzer Tuesday, bringing his salary for 2012 to $176,868.
The percentage hike matches those of other village employees.
Frenzer’s pay, reviewed annually, is composed of both a fixed salary and performance based merit pay. In addition to the 2 percent fixed salary hike, the board approved $6,936 in merit pay, equivalent to 4 percent of his base salary last year, as well as payment of $5,000 into his deferred compensation plan.
The merit and deferred compensation payments reflect the board’s evaluation of “the excellent level of work” Frenzer performed for Wilmette last year, Village President Chris Canning stated in a report on the decision.
There was no discussion on the salary resolution, which passed in an omnibus consent vote with other motions.
Frenzer has been manager since 2009. Prior to that, he was the village’s corporation counsel, a post he held between 1993 and 2009.
