Lake Forest native Matt Grevers earns second gold in Olympic relay

Lake Forest native Matthew Grevers today (Aug. 4) led off the American team on its way to a gold medal in the Men’s 4x100M Relay during the 2012 Olympics in London, according to the London 2012 website.

In the event, each of the four swimmers on each four-man team performs a different stroke.

Starting off the race for the United States, Grevers performed the backstroke in his portion of the contest. His time was 52.58 seconds and the team’s total time was 3:32.65.

Grevers already this Olympiad has earned a gold medal in the Men’s 100M Backstroke and a silver medal in 4x100M Freestyle relay, according to the site.
