Joel S. and Jeri Rothman of Wilmette served as mission co-chairs for the recently concluded American Technion Society (ATS) Mission to Israel. The 10-day Mission, “Old World Splendors - New World Solutions: Technion Journey of a Lifetime,” took place May 22-June 8, traveling this year to St. Petersburg, Russia, and Israel, and raised more than $6.2 million for the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel’s leading science and technology university.
“The Technion has had an exceptionally special year—with winning a Nobel Prize and the chance to build a high-tech institution in New York City—and we have all celebrated from afar. But nothing beats being there in person,” said Rothman. “Our excitement and joy in celebrating the Technionís recent achievements along with its cornerstone centennial was unsurpassed.”
Joel Rothman, a graduate of Northwestern University, is the principal of the Rothman Law Group in Chicago. His involvement with the ATS began in 1983 and since then, he has been a member of the ATS National Board of Directors for more than 20 years, serving on various committees; a president of the Chicago Chapter, and has led other ATS Missions. Jeri Rothman, a graduate of both the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and Northwestern University, where she received her masters in business administration, is an Investigational Drug Services pharmacist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
