Green Bay Road cyclist struck by car in Winnetka

A bicyclist traveling southbound on Green Bay Road in Winnetka was struck early Tuesday by a northbound driver attempting to turn west onto Willow Road.
The bicyclist, a 42-year-old Glencoe man, was transported by paramedics to Evanston Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to Deputy Chief Joseph Pellus of the Winnetka Police Department.
The driver, an 86-year-old Winnetka man, was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn. The accident happened at about 6:17 a.m., before the morning rush hour.
Winnetka police are not releasing the identity of either party to the accident.
