The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has been recognizing executive women leaders in the Greater Chicago area for 19 years, and five more outstanding women were honored by the ADL on Monday, April 30th at the 19th annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner held at the Palmer House Hilton.
The evening recognized women with impressive professional accomplishments and involvement in the community. A distinguished committee of 25 women made recommendations and decisions about potential honorees.
The 19th Annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner was host to more than 915 guests and raised over $600,000 through sponsorship, ticket sales, an elite silent auction, and donations at the event.
Kathy Brock of Chicago’s ABC 7 emceed the exciting evening, and Jeniece Fleming, a former student in the Grosfeld Youth Leadership Mission, shared her experience of her initial exposure to ADL and how the educational programs inspired her toward a career of diversity work.
This year’s Women of Achievement honorees included: Sherry Barrat, Vice-Chairman, Northern Trust; Carla Michelotti, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal, Government, Corporate Affairs Officer, Leo Burnett Worldwide; Anne Pramaggiore, President and Chief Executive Officer, ComEd; Joan Walker, Executive Vice-President of Corporate Relations, Allstate Insurance Company and Humanitarian Award: Paula Fasseas, Founder, PAWS Chicago.
The funds raised at the event will be used to support ADL’s programs to combat all forms of bigotry and hate including several educational programs to fight bullying and educate about diversity.
