1. A Cappella Weekend features AC Rock performing a cappella rock at 8 p.m. July 6 and the North Shore Harmonizers, a women’s a cappella chorus in the barbershop tradition, and Lakeshore Jive, a coed a cappella group, at 8 p.m. July 7 at the Starlight Theatre at the Wallace Bowl in Gillson Park, Lake Avenue and Lake Michigan, Wilmette. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be at the Community Recreation Center, 3000 Glenview Road. Call (847) 256-9787 after 6 p.m. the day of the concert for weather updates.

Northwestern University Summer Orchestra performs Boris Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, featuring cellist Miron Yampolsky, and Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major at 7:30 p.m. July 8 at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston. The Sarah Lazarus Memorial Concert, held in cooperation with Chicago YIVO Society and featuring the Lori Cahan-Simon Ensemble performing “Vessel of Song: The Music of Mikhl Gelbart,” will be presented from 1:30-3 p.m. July 8 at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie.
