Real estate agencies merge

Chicago-based @properties is welcoming 10 North Shore real estate brokers in a merger with Chambers Cross & Associates, a boutique Winnetka-based real estate firm that traces its roots back to the early 20th century. Chambers Cross & Associates was established in 1993 when Cheryl Chambers and the late Wendy Cross acquired Continental Realtors of Winnetka, which started out as McGuire and Orr several decades earlier. In 2011, Chambers Cross & Associates was ranked 10th in sales volume in New Trier Township, according to real estate data provider BrokerMetrics. “With @properties, we gain the marketing infrastructure, back-office support and referral opportunities of a large firm without sacrificing the boutique brand of service that is the essence of Chambers Cross,” said Cheryl Chambers. “We believe it’s the ideal opportunity to better serve our clients and grow our business.”
Among the Chambers Cross brokers joining Ms. Chambers at @properties are Jennifer Black, Margaret Burton, Laurie Baker-Foster, Celia Nelson, Helen Panje, Bud Chambers and Laura Collyer, daughter of Chambers Cross co-founder Wendy Cross.
Chambers and her team will be based out of @properties’ Winnetka office, located at 30 Green Bay Road. They will continue to display Chambers Cross & Associates branding, in addition to @properties branding, in advertising, collateral and signage.
