History:
While incorporation of Wilmette began in 1869, it wasn’t until 1924 that the village was created as a merger of two older villages, Wilmette and Gross Point. Read more about the history of Wilmette here.

According to the US Census, it is estimated that Wilmette’s population for the year 2010 was 27,010. There are 7,844 people younger than 18; 19,166 people 18 and older; and 4,528 people 65 and older.
