A Chicago man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years in the prison for two burglaries in Wilmette, according to the Office of Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.

Arnold Rogers, 42, of the 1400 block of S. Canal St., pleaded guilty to residential burglary and was sentenced Jan. 30 by Judge Garritt Howard.

According to prosecutors, on Oct. 31, 2012, Rogers entered two townhomes in the 500 block of Ridge Road in Wilmette by breaking the window next to the front door and then reaching in to open the door.

Upon entering the residences, Rogers stole electronics and jewelry. Rogers was picked up by police responding to the scene a short distance away, carrying two bags filled with the proceeds from the burglaries. ~.
