Winnetka Club’s housewalk raises $50,000

The Winnetka Club’s 2012 Annual Housewalk, “Lifestyles,” held on May 16, raised about $50,000, organizers say.
The five homes represented North Shore living in various degrees of decorative and architectural significance. This Housewalk was sponsored by local businesses on the North Shore and Chicago. The Platinum Sponsor was Chambers, Cross and Associates, Winnetka. The Silver Level Sponsors were Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., First Bank & Trust, and North Shore Community Bank & Trust Company, all of Winnetka, and Richard Menna Design, Ltd. of Chicago.
Each home was decorated with finishing touches by Material Possessions, Artistica Italian Gallery, and Noah’s Ark Pet Supply, all of Winnetka, Peachtree Place of Northfield, Adesso of Highland Park, and Tabula Tua and Fini-table of Chicago.
Floral arrangements displayed in each home were showcased by Victor Hlavacek Florist and Greenhouses, Flowers by Grand Food Center, Prufrock Floral and Botanical Design, all of Winnetka, Floral Gardens of Highland Park, and Swansons Blossom Shop Ltd. of Deerfield.
The Hubbard Woods Gazebo was decorated by Rocco Fiore & Sons, Libertyville. Each homeowner received a beautiful enamel box with a picture of their home designed by Mary McLaughlin Designs of Northfield.
Voted The Best Housewalk on the North Shore, The Winnetka Club has been showcasing beautiful homes for over two decades. This year, the Club introduced an exciting new dining option: “Let’s Do Lunch Locally.” During the day, attendees were encouraged to enjoy the cuisine at the following establishments: Avli Estiatorio, Café Aroma, Jerry’s/Corner Cooks, Little Ricky’s, Mirani’s, and O’Neils, Trifecta Grill, and Trueman, all in Winnetka. Caribou Coffee provided coffee at ticket pick-up, Schaefer’s offered wine tasting at one of the homes, and the Wilton School of Cake Decorating provided cake decorating demonstrations.
More than 700 people attended the housewalk and approximately $50,000 was raised. Annual scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who live or attend school in New Trier Township.
The Co-Chairs of the 2012 Housewalk were Danna Carr & Patty Felker.
