Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has announced the sale of a piece of cinematic history, the home featured in the family movie, “Home Alone.”

The well-known house sold for $1.585 million. The buyer wasn’t immediately identified.

“This iconic home attracted buyers from around the country as well as buyers with roots in Chicago,” said Broker Associate Marissa Hopkins, who represented the home. “Selling this unique property has been a privilege and a wonderful experience. It was heartwarming to learn that this home has touched so many fans and families.”

Located in the Chicago North Shore suburb of Winnetka, the red-brick four-bedroom colonial Georgian home was originally priced for $2.4 million. John and Cynthia Abendshien have owned the house since 1988. The home sits on a half-acre lot, just blocks from the historic village center and Lake Michigan.
