A tip earlier this year that two men were selling drugs, including cocaine, Ecstasy and marijuana, to young people in Wilmette led to their arrest Friday in one of the men’s Evanston home.

Wilmette police, acting on a search warrant, arrested Patrick E. Whitington, 18, of 2508 Thayer St. in Evanston, at his home, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Police also arrested Kyle P. Lucki, 18, 1107 Asbury Ave., Apt. 2N, Evanston, at the same time.

Both men face felony charges of possession with intent to deliver various drugs. They are due to appear Feb. 9 in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie.

Whitington was charged with possession with intent to deliver up to 15 grams of cocaine, a Class 1 felony; possession with intent to deliver fewer than 15 pills of Ecstasy, a Class 2 felony; possession with intent to deliver the anti-anxiety pill alprazolam, a Class 3 felony; and possession of Adderall, an amphetamine commonly used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder, a Class 4 felony. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing nitrous oxide.

Whitington is free on a $30,000 bond.

Lucki was charged with possession with intent to deliver between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana, a Class 3 felony. He is free on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.

Wilmette Police Chief Brian King said Monday.

The case began two to three weeks ago, when the department got a tip that drugs were being sold to young people in Wilmette.

According to department officials, the tip suggested cocaine, marijuana, Ecstasy and alprazolam were being sold out of the Thayer Street address. Investigators staked out the house and later obtained a search warrant after conferring with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

King said his department also coordinated its efforts with the Evanston Police Department.

When detectives used the warrant to enter Whitington’s home, they found him and Lucki in Whitington’s bedroom. When police searched the bedroom, they found almost 80 grams of marijuana, just under 4 grams of cocaine, 186 alprazolam pills, three MDMA (Ecstasy) pills, 23 Ritalin pills and 72 nitrous oxide cylinders.

Police said Whitington allegedly told investigators that everything but the marijuana was his, and that he planned to sell the cocaine, the Ecstasy and the alprazolam.

They said Lucki allegedly stated that the marijuana was his and that he planned to sell it.
